Welcome to the website of professor Natalie Ban’s research group. We are researchers passionate about making a difference in our oceans and coastal ecosystems through research and community engagement. Our work focuses on coastal and marine conservation and social-ecological systems, and integrates natural and social sciences, and braids together western and Indigenous knowledge when appropriate and invited by Indigenous partners.
Natalie joined the School of Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria in January 2013, and now has a lively, dynamic and engaged research group, currently comprised of postdoctoral fellows (Rosanna, Kayla), PhD students (Chris, Lauren, Jade, Lawrence, Erica), and Master’s students (Laurel, Jared, Zoe).
